Hey Everyone,
There’s just three weeks to go until this year’s Northern Short Course (NSC) kicks off in Warwick, Rhode Island! The 33rd Annual NSC will be held March 13 to 15, at the Crowne Plaza Hotel, right off I-95.
If you’ve not been to a Northern Short Course before, the three-day event is packed with nearly thirty workshops on topics relevant to professionals and students in the field of visual journalism.
There will be an opening event on March 12 at 8pm lead by Momenta’s Jamie Rose that will be open to the public. This session, Present Yourself Like a Pro : A Field Guide to the NSC, will offer inside tips on how to make yourself memorable and create valuable contacts at conferences, interviews and networking events. Don’t miss this opportunity!
Check out the line up from our Speaker Series, which opens and closes each day. They are: John Tlumacki, Ami Vitale, Liz Baylen, John H. White, MaryAnne Golon and Eugene Richards.
In addition to our Speaker Series, each day is packed full of workshops and lectures on topics such as business practices, multimedia, lighting, and more.
Our 2014 faculty includes four Pulitzer Prize winners (John White, Stan Forman, Rick Loomis and Barbara Davidson), the 2014 POYi winner (Barbara Davidson), and a three-time Ernie Crisp Television News Photographer of the Year (Darren Durlach). See the full schedule and other faculty members on our website.
The event closes with the NSC Contest Awards and National Press Photographers Association Annual Awards reception on Saturday evening.
You won’t find a more diverse conference – there’s something for everyone! The early bird registration fees are good through this Friday, Feb. 21, so head to the NSC 2014 site and register today! There are discounts for NPPA members, students, and hotel discounts for NSC participants as well.
