Former Boston Globe deputy director of photography Jim Wilson died Nov. 3, 2022, of cancer. We’re deeply saddened by this loss and send our condolences to his family and friends.

Bill Greene wrote to the Globe newsroom about Wilson: “Former deputy director of photography Jim Wilson peacefully passed away at home after a long battle with cancer.

A native of Lynn Mass., he began his career at the Globe as a staff photographer in 1983. Jim helped coordinate all the big events in our coverage. We knew we were always in good hands with his steady hand on the tiller.”

The Globe has published an article about his life and there is an obituary online. There is a visitation Nov. 11, 2022, from 5 to 8pm at F. S. Roberts & Son Funeral Home in Rowley, MA, and a funeral mass at 11 am on Nov. 12, 2022, at Our Lady of Hope Church in Ipswich, MA.
