Thousands of seals have migrated to the warm waters of Chatham Harbor because the shifting sandbars have formed a barrier to the open ocean. More seals have meant more sharks which feed on them and have threatened swimmers and surfers on area beaches. A large seal holds a fish scrap as it chews on it at the Chatham Fish Pier.
