A young boxing student catches his breath during an intense training session at the Rafael Trejo Gym in Old Havana. Each morning, before the regular cohort of nationally recognized heavy hitters enter the ring, dozens of young up-and-coming boxers hone their skills. Many of these children are already champions in their respective age groups and aspire to excel in the sport to earn money for their families and have a rare opportunity to experience life outside of their island home.
